ReNew ELP is pleased to announce the acquisition of land on the Wilton International site at Teesside in the North East of England for the first operational facility. Once operational the site will be capable of upgrading 20,000 tonnes of end of life plastics (ELP) into high value middle distillate fuels.
The development of a Cat-HTR facility is a significant milestone for ReNew ELP, and solidifies its investment into Teesside. Additionally, the project will create over 30 new jobs in the region.
The development at Wilton, which is the first of its kind in the UK utilises plastic waste which would otherwise be taken to landfill as a feedstock for the catalytic hydrothermal reactor (Cat-HTR). A technology developed at the University of Sydney and licenced by Licella.
